Movie Thoughts #1: Final Destination 5

Before I get started, I want to just acknowledge everything that Kingsley said about this movie because I am a huge fan of his. This time, we have to just agree to disagree.
Summary: it's a bunch of crap, don't go see it.
That's done. Moving along.

I have yet to see this particular Final Destination. However, I have seen all the rest of them and I must say that I am a fan. Sometimes, the "accidental" deaths are pretty morbid but that is the plot. Let's face it, if no one liked them there wouldn't be five.
This movie appeals to the side of people who believe in fate. I think fate has some factor in a person's life, but most of it has to do with their personal decisions. That aside, the examples of "fate vs. accidents" and "life vs. life is too short" in this movie is super intriguing. At the end of the film, I really start to think about how short life is and I how you have to seize the moment. FD makes you think about that because the scenarios are somewhat believable. Bridges collapse, laser surgeries go wrong, and sometimes acupuncture tables have rickety legs.
The only part of these movies that annoy me are people who become paranoid after watching them.

Listen to me: one day, somewhere in the future, you will go across a bridge. Get over it. You will also experience planes, trains, and automobiles, but someone who truly wants to live doesn't cower in the presence of machinery.

Sure everything has a risk, but part of living is taking that risk.

Why not go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is? ~ Frank Scully
